Rites of Passage Retreat for Girls
Grailville and Nzuzu, a life coaching organization, invite girls to a weekend retreat for sharing, transformation and celebration of the woman you are becoming!
This Rites of Passage Weekend Retreat is for girls only, and is geared toward girls aged 11 and up. This weekend retreat will be held July 30-31, 2010 beginning 7 pm on Friday and ending at 4 pm on Saturday. Mothers and other female elders are invited to come at 3 pm on Saturday for the Rites of Passage ceremony the girls will create. Activities include creative writing and arts, guided discussion, experiences of nature, meditation/reflection and play. Mothers and other adult women are invited to join us Saturday evening for a Rites of Passage Ceremony created by the girls during the retreat.
Rites of Passage gatherings are designed to support the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual journey of girls on the path to womanhood. Programs help girls make a positive, healthy, self-aware and self-sufficient transition into young adulthood as they:
• Learn to navigate the physical, emotional and social transitions they are facing
• Receive encouragement for their positive values and skills
• Express their inner lives through creative writing, art activities and guided meditation
• Be in a supportive environment with other girls their age
• Learn from and with caring adults
• Experience nature on Grailville’s 300 acres of woods, pastures and organic gardens
Co-facilitators are:
Pauletta Hansel, also Co-Director of Grailville, a poet and teacher who leads creative writing activities with an emphasis on programs for women and girls.
Quanita Munday, an Integral Life Coach, and director and founder of Nzuzu LLC, committed to building stronger circles of women around the world, with experience in facilitation in the arts, diversity education, asset based community development, youth development, and building effective collaborations.

Rites of Passage Retreat for Girls is held Friday, July 30-Saturday July 31, 2010 at Grailville, 932 O’Bannonville Road, Loveland, OH. Tuition (which includes meals and lodging) is $100. Reservation with nonrefundable deposit is required. Scholarships are available. 5% discount for multiple pre-paid registrations for this workshop or this workshop in combination with other Grailville programs.
