Body Matters: A Third Sunday Poetry Series Reading and Conversation About Healing and Words
Join poet Susan F. Glassmeyer, a somatic therapist and author of Body Matters for an afternoon which focuses on writing from and about our physical selves. Please note that author Leatha Kendrick is unexpectedly unable to attend.. Followed by a poetry craft workshop.
Susan Glassmeyer will read from her work and engage us in both conversation and creative experiences on the topic of writing and healing.
Susan F. Glassmeyer is the Cincinnati-area author of Body Matters from Pudding House Press, having won a grant through Xavier University (Cincinnati) to complete work on the manuscript. She is the co-director of the Holistic Health Center of Cincinnati and has a private practice as a somatic therapist, specializing in the Feldenkrais Method®. She promotes local writing classes, workshops, and activities through her website Little Pocket Poetry.
Grailville’s Third Sunday Poetry Series offers monthly opportunities for poets and poetry lovers to gather for readings, performances and discussions, followed by an optional poetry craft workshop, led by poet and Grailville co-director Pauletta Hansel, in which participants will give and receive feedback on poems they have brought with them.
Spend Sunday afternoon with learning from and with accomplished poets from the Cincinnati area and beyond! Grailville’s Third Sunday Poetry Series is co-sponsored by Cincinnati Writers Project, Dos Madres Press, Greater Cincinnati Writers League, and InkTank. There is a $15 fee for the 2:00 pm reading. The Poetry Workshop, beginning at 3:30 pm is by donation. Workshop participants should bring five copies on up to three poems.

Body Matters is held Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 2:00pm at Grailville, 932 O’Bannonville Road, Loveland, OH. The fee for this program is $15. Prepaid reservations are non-refundable. Tuition for the optional poetry craft workshop is by donation.
