”While in my 30’s, I had a precious New York period. I lived at the Grail center in Brooklyn and cooked breakfast for about 35 young women who were in training to go to other countries in professional service – a sort of early Peace Corps. After this I was free the rest of the day to explore the city and undertake all sorts of art learning.

”The original cement piece was created years ago when my brother was patching something and had some cement left over. Not being one to waste anything, I grabbed a tall tin can to use as the core and with a wooden paddle, pushed the cement around on top of it. I kept paddling, pushing and stroking until this Big Hug appeared! I’m delighted to have this finally in production.”
